FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) -- A Fort Campbell soldier from New York has died in Afghanistan.

A statement from the Army on Saturday says 25-year-old Sgt. Justin Richard Rogers of Barton, N.Y., died Friday at Bagram Airfield in a noncombat related incident. The Army says it is investigating Rogers' death.

The statement says Rogers joined the Army in 2008. He was a horizontal construction engineer assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell. The sprawling Army post is located on the Kentucky-Tennessee line.

The statement said Rogers is survived by his parents, Stan J. Vicki and Teresa A. Vicki, of Barton.
