Government Requests for User Data on the Rise

Google received more inquiries from the feds about user information in the first six months of 2013 than any period before.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ca. (WBKO) -- The government's requests for information on Google users continues to rise. That's according to Google's annual transparency report.

The report says Google received more inquiries from the feds about user information in the first six months of 2013 than any period before.

The United States government also makes the most requests in the world for user data.

This is Google's eighth transparency report since it started publicly sharing statistics in 2010.
