A Grayson County man is sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in an arson that occurred in November 2010.

Kentucky State Police say Russell Mercer, 64, was sentenced on January 22 after he hired his ex-brother-in-law, Tom Lashley, 46, to burn some property on November 10, 2010.

Mercer had promised Lashley that he would pay him a portion of the proceeds from the claim he collected from the insurance company.

Lashley pled guilty to the arson and was sentenced to ten years in prison on February 7.
