At the stroke of midnight the new Windows 8 operating system is set to release, but with it comes a new gaming app developed right here in Bowling Green.

"Tonight at midnight we are going to hit the button, and hopefully the downloads are going to start flowing in," said Draw a Stickman Epic Designer Phil Williams.

The Draw a Stickman Epic app all started with a website version that took off, getting nearly a million hits within the first 24 hours of its release.

"You draw a stickman, and he would come to life and you take him through this adventure, and you draw things to help him along the way. So I can draw an ax, and my stickman can use that ax to chop down items that might be in its path," said Williams.

The site had so much success, it led Hitcents to expand into a whole new realm of gaming development.

"We actually expanded the company, and hired a whole new department just to start doing game development," said Williams.

Those new members of the hitcents team have been busy.
"We've had over nine people over the last seven months working on this project," said Hitcents President Chris Mills.

"I was hired on specifically to work on this project," said Hitcents 2D Animator Jeff Dehut.
Each member of the team has left their own mark on the program.

"I kind of help take the pictures that are drawn and make them come to life," said Hitcents 2D Animator Craig Dehut.

"It's great to see something you've made come to life and we're really excited to start playing it," said Hitcents Senior Developer John Peppers.

With the app set to come out on Windows 8 and the Apple Store in just under 2 hours, they're hoping the world is excited to play too. Williams says the app will also be released on the Android Market within the next few weeks.
