ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) — A central Kentucky man has been charged with two counts of murder after what state police called an alcohol-fueled a wreck on the Lincoln Parkway.
Trooper Jeff Gregory says 46-year-old Earl D. Richardson of Hodgenville drove a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer into the side of a 2004 Nissan Sentra driven by 75-year-old Johnie M. Dennis of Elizabethtown at about 6:30 p.m. EDT Sunday.
Gregory says Dennis was trying to cross Ky. 61 when Richardson struck him. Dennis and his passenger, 71-year-old Luevenia Dennis of Elizabethtown, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Richardson's juvenile passenger was treated and released from at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
Richardson also faces charges of wanton endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.
He's being held at the Hardin County Detention Center. Jail records do not list an attorney.
