"He grabbed a little kitten up and squeezed it to death and threw it in the floor and said this is what I'll do to you and your wife and I'll burn you up in the house," said Thompson's second cousin Fairly Piercy.

GLASGOW, Ky. (WBKO) -- He may call himself the world's greatest panhandler, but today it wasn't panhandling that landed him in court.

He was charged with two counts of terroristic threatening, charges he told one of our reporters last week he'd plead guilty to.

"I'll plead guilty to it, ma'am," said Thompson.

That wasn't the case though when he appeared in Barren County District Court today. He pleaded not guilty to the charges, but one relative told us he's received threats from Thompson at his Cave City home.

"He grabbed a little kitten up and squeezed it to death and threw it in the floor and said this is what I'll do to you and your wife and I'll burn you up in the house," said Thompson's second cousin Fairly Piercy.

Piercy says Thompson's panhandling routine is also fake.

"I know for a fact he can walk. He's done it in front of the police officers at my home when I had to call the law on him, and he's done it at other places," said Piercy.

Piercy was in court today, but wants nothing to do with Thompson or his mother.

"I just know that I never want him around my home again or her, because she's an accomplice to it in my eyes," said Piercy.

Thompson's attorney requested the judge lower his $1,000 bond, A request that was denied.

For now, Thompson remain in jail, and if released, must not make contact with those who filed the complaints of threatening.

Thompson's pretrial conference is set for November 14, with his trial scheduled for November 21.
