Jury selection in the trial of a Paducah woman charged with murder and driving under the influence is set to begin Wednesday.

The Paducah Sun and WPSD report that Marshall County Circuit Judge Dennis Foust declined on Monday to grant a motion to change the venue for the trial, which would have delayed proceedings.

The attorney for 20-year-old Tiffany Pittman asked for the change, noting that 15 potential jurors or their friends out of a pool of 80 had signed an online petition started by the victim's family for stricter DUI laws. Prosecutor Mark Blankenship said that still leaves a pool of 65, which is enough to seat a jury.

Pittman is accused of killing 46-year-old Jimmy Harper, who was hit head-on last year while driving to work.
