KSP: Argument Lands E'town Man In Hospital

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. -- On Tuesday at approximately 3:03 A.M. EST, Kentucky State Police Post 04 says it received a call in regards to an altercation at 8738 Bardstown Road.

KSP says Ryannel Braxton, 23, and his older cousin Jeromey Sandlin, 27, got into a physical altercation where Sandlin was hit with a blunt object and suffered cuts to the head.

Troopers say he then left the home and was stopped after a brief chase on U.S. 62.

Sandlin was arrested and charged with the following: Reckless Driving, Speeding, Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd, Operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 1st, Possession of open alcohol container in motor vehicle prohibited, Wanton Endangerment 2nd (Police Officer).

He was later transported to University of Louisville Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

KSP says the preliminary investigation indicates that Braxton was acting in self defense.

The assault case remains under investigation.
