Boone County Sheriff Michael Helmig says deputies will no longer be dispatched to aide motorists in Florence who can't get into their vehicles. Helmig told The Kentucky Enquirer ( ) the number of calls from the city was growing while staffing at the department stayed the same.

The new policy took effect Jan. 1.
