The US Attorney's Office says one of the leaders of a prostitution ring that operated in Lexington pleaded guilty to sex trafficking charges today.
Marco Antonio Flores-Benitez, 38, and Roxana Serna-Olea, 36, are each charged with multiple crimes related to sex trafficking.
Flores-Benitez pleaded guilty to sex trafficking charges while Serna-Olea pleaded guilty to interstate prostitution charges.
According to court documents, starting in December 2006 Flores-Benitez and Serna-Olea operated a prostitution delivery service for customers between Lexington and Louisville and they also ran a brothel in Lexington.
It marks the first-ever sex trafficking conviction in Kentucky.
