LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Jefferson County Public Schools officials have booted 11 students out of school after drug-laces brownies were shared.

At least two parents have filed appeals to their children being suspended after a student brought the brownies, into which marijuana had been baked, to Eastern High School last week.

Crystal Fuller told the station her 14-year-old son didn't realize the snacks had been tampered with and threw away most of the one he had been given because it didn't taste good.

School officials said Fuller's son and another student were back in school Monday morning, pending the outcome of that appeal.

It wasn't yet clear whether criminal charges would be filed against the student who officials said brought in the brownies.
