Ky. Revamps Child Support Website

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky has revamped its child support division website to allow people to make credit card payments and employers to submit information for background checks online.

Department of Income Support official Steve Veno said the changes are designed to allow people to find information easily, as well as facilitate payments and speed up background checks required by law.

Pam Williamson, who manages Christina county's child support office, said the website now allows parents 24-hour access to information. Williamson told the Kentucky New Era (http://bit.ly/JXj4Wu) that under the old system, parents had to call the local office, which was open only during business hours.

Veno said parents can use the site to update personal information and register to start payments.
