Getting up for work everyday can be a struggle for some of us, but not employees at several companies named to a very special list.
Companies named as the "Best Places to Work in Kentucky" say it's all about working, and having a little fun.
It looks like an ordinary bank outside, but employees inside are celebrating.
For the 7th straight year, Independence Bank has been named one of the best places to work in Kentucky.
It's a workplace that takes a "family" atmosphere to a whole new level.
"The company itself is family owned but the employees still own 17% of the company. So we each have an ownership interest in the company towards its success and that's why we work so hard and play hard as well."
"Play" includes team exercises that improve the surrounding community, which gets every employees hands a little dirty.
"Habitat for humanity where the employees get to build a house and we dedicate as a company overall that we build a house each year and it is paid for by the bank and built by the employees."
The same "work hard, play hard" mentality is felt across town at another "Best Place to Work" winner, Argi financial group.
"Just the little things like a Halloween party or a Christmas party really helps to turn a day around. It gets you excited again. I think everybody in the firm like and enjoys everybody else in the firm. We are one big family."
But the fun and games only come around if employees stay on task at their desk jobs.
"Last year we had a corn hole tournament with a marketing firm in Louisville just on a friday during the middle of summer so they expect everybody to work hard, and we do work hard."
Employees hope to continue their hard work, so they can be recognized again next year.
These are just a few companies named in our area.
