For local illustrator Jeff Dehut, it all started with some simple cartoon characters that he affectionately called “folks.” He would take a recognizable face like Paul McCartney, Darth Vader, or Kermit the Frog, and reduce them into a simple, yet amazingly memorable, cartoon figure.
Utilizing social media outlets like Instagram and Twitter, and his own website at www.explosivelimes.com, Jeff offers a completely unique illustrating experience.
He started drawing these cartoons for friends to use as their Facebook profile pictures and before long, he had hundreds of people waiting in line to get themselves made into “folks.”
It wasn’t long before WBKO jumped on board. Jeff created “Folk” versions of each member of WBKO Interactive (also known as “The Web Team,” the creative minds behind the weekly “What the Tech”) and together, they created another amazing outlet for these one-of-a-kind characters.
Take a look at the first episode of WBKO’s “The Web Team,” and stay tuned to wbko.com and our Facebook page for more exciting collaborations with Bowling Green’s own Jeff Dehut.
