HENDERSON, Ky. (AP) -- Police in western Kentucky are warning parents that a man has been going door-to-door and aggressively seeking information about young children.
Henderson County Sheriff's Lt. Frank Gropp says a woman in the Reed community reported a visit from a man in his 20s earlier this month seeking information from parents whose children were in kindergarten or in the first grade.
Gropp told The Gleaner (http://bit.ly/RTZyQ8 ) that the woman declined to give any information, but the man refused to leave a phone number or card and was reluctant to leave the front door.
School officials said employees always have identification and will leave a way to contact them.
Gropp said authorities are concerned that the man may have questioned other parents, gleaning information from them about their children.
