A husband in Meade County is arrested after shooting his wife.

Toni M. Lawhorn, 34, was shot in the stomach but was able to flee to a neighbor's house where they called 911.

Terry C. Lawhorn, 55, of Vine Grove was arrested after Kentucky State Police say he eventually surrendered, but he has also been charged with wanton endangerment for shooting at police when they first arrived.

He is lodged in the Meade County Jail.

Toni Lawhorn has undergone surgery and is in the intensive care unit of a Louisville hospital.
