Kentucky State Police say 46-year-old Brice T. Horn from Harned, fled from a residence where they discovered meth-making materials in the 1000 block of Kentucky 259.

KSP says Horn ran out the back of the residence and was tased by a deputy sheriff, but to no effect. He then ran into a nearby mobile home.

When a drug task force officer entered the home, Horn pointed a gun at his own head and said he was going to kill himself. Horn fired a shot which hit him, but he was still able to talk to the officer.

KSP says as Horn raised his gun from his head, the officer returned fire, and Horn fell to the floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation continues.
