Medical Center Set to Kick Off 33rd Annual 10K Classic

Updated: Fri 8:41 PM, Aug 24, 2012

The Medical Center is set to kick off its 33rd Annual 10k Classic on Oct. 13.

The classic has been a tradition in Bowling Green for 32 years, but this year some changes to the course are being made to make it even more family friendly.

The children's course will have some changes, and will end on the field at Houchen's L.T. Smith Stadium with the other 10k participants.

"That will keep the children right there where parents can see them, and feel very safe about where they are, and their involvement. And we really encourage parents to register their children for the children's classic. It's a great event, and an opportunity for children to begin to see the importance of physical fitness at an early age," said Medical Center 10K Committee Co-Chair Joe Tennis.

The event will also include a Health and Wellness Expo that begins on Fri. Oct 12.

Vendors will sell running gear, and Southern Foods will have a pasta party, while the Medical Center will offer various health screenings.
