Military Man Surprises Family At Beech Bend Park

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) After two years away from his family, an airman decided to surprise them at Beech Bend Park Friday morning.

21-year-old Jonathon Greathouse arrived home Thursday after serving in the Air Force in Idaho.

For 24 hours, his dad helped hide him from his younger siblings.

Meanwhile, his mom was planning what her kids thought was an ordinary trip to the amusement park.

Greathouse put on a character costume and greeted park visitors.

Then he took off his head off when his brother and sister showed up.

"I'm glad. I've been texting him, 'I miss you. I'm ready for you to come home,'" his sister, Erin Minton said.

"It's good to finally see my family again. I'd say the hardest part has been location overall -- separation from my family, being in such a different environment," Greathouse said.

His parents said they had fun planning the surprise, while his little brother said, it was the best way to surprise them.
