A Monroe County man was killed in a fiery crash early Sunday morning.

Police say 29-year-old Joshua Hale of Gamaliel crashed on Alexander School Road in Monroe County just after 2 am.

They say his car went off the road and hit a tree after he failed to make a curve.

Hale's SUV became engulfed in flames, keeping witnesses from rescuing him.

Police say Hale died at the scene.
