Members of an eastern Kentucky church have held their first worship service in their new sanctuary, following a March tornado.

WYMT-TV in Hazard reported the congregation of Collista Freewill Baptist Church in Johnson County met Sunday in their new building. The previous structure in the Hagerhill community was destroyed by the spring storm.

Church members brought in the new pews and fastened them down on Saturday.

Pastor Toby Johnson was elated and recalled the heartbreak of seeing the previous church building in ruins.
