People Getting in Shape for the New Year

"We wanted to do it to kick off the New Year right -- get healthy, get fit, get Zumba -- because everybody makes New Year's resolutions and we wanted to help start it off with a party," said Jamie Dobbs, one of the organizers for the event.

WARREN CO., Ky. (WBKO) -- People often make a New Year's resolution to get fit, which is what Z-BASH was all about.

At least 40 people were at the event at the Phil Moore Park Gymnasium Saturday morning.

They learned how to do the dance-based exercise Zumba.

Health-related vendors also were set up during the event.

The women behind the event said they're pleased with the turnout they had for the first year.

"We wanted to do it to kick off the New Year right -- get healthy, get fit, get Zumba -- because everybody makes New Year's resolutions and we wanted to help start it off with a party," said Jamie Dobbs, one of the organizers for the event.

The tickets were eight dollars at the door, and organizers said they're already excited to bring back the event next year.
