Wicked weather left behind a trail of destruction in Bowling Green.

"Mother nature can show you what she can do to you," says Bonnie Jordan, a Bowling Green resident who had her home destroyed by the storm.

Crews were out at the Old Western Hills Trailer Park Tuesday, picking up trees and restoring power.

The thunderstorm had ripped apart a woman's roof, leaving behind a gaping hole.

"They're trying to get it all cleaned up so they can get tarps on my roof because I have a big hole in there, cause there's suppose to be more rain coming so nothing else gets wet and stuff in there, I got enough water in there and on the floor," says Jordan.

Jordan says she was inside with her two grandchildren when the winds picked up and knocked a tree over.

"And the kids came into the living room, my grandson had just sit down in the recliner til I mean, it just hit, and the next thing I know, my roof was coming on top of us," says Jordan.

The family then ran out of the house and are okay.

Other residents were also picking up their yards in a neighborhood close-by.

They say they saw lightning strike a tree, causing it to fall on a home.

"It's like it hit a pole first and then, all we saw was a tree fall over and some girl came out of the house running," says Vellonie Brown, a Bowling Green resident, who saw lightning strike a tree.

The woman inside the damaged home then sought shelter next door.

"I told her, let's go ahead and go in the basement., that way, if there is a tornado, we won't get blown away too," says Lacy Jones, a Bowling Green resident.

Across the state, the storm killed at least one person.

It also impacted several other states including Ohio, West Virginia, and North Carolina.
