Police arrested William Hilton Paul last night at Charlotte Douglas International in Charlotte on a few different charges.

Media outlets in Charlotte reported that police said he identified himself as Senator Rand Paul's son.

A police report shows William Paul was arrested on three different charges. These include disorderly conduct, intoxicated and disruptive, and consumption of beer/wine underage.

Paul was housed with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff, but was released on bond.

Paul's office released this statement to some media outlets "Sen. Paul is a national public figure and subject to scrutiny in the public arena; however, as many parents with teenagers would understand, his family should be afforded the privacy and respect they deserve in a situation such as this."
