The confusion over redistricting continues.

Those running still aren't sure who or what district they will represent.

The newest part of the redistricting puzzle came in a ruling Tuesday from a Judge Phillip Shepherd of Franklin County, saying the new lines were unconstitutional and that's sent lawmakers and those planning to run in a frenzy.

"It's total confusion," said Rep. Jim DeCesare (R) 21st District.

"There's an uneasiness about it, because people don't know what the district lines will look like," said Rep. Jody Richards (D) 20th District.

With a new filing deadline fast approaching tomorrow, there are those who think the old lines will stand and others who disagree.

"Not being able to predict what the courts are going to do. I mean as of right now, according to Judge Shepherd's ruling, we've basically reverted back to the original lines," said DeCesare.

"I cannot believe that the courts will allow the legislators to run in the old districts ultimately because there is too great a disparity in the population of those districts," said Richards.

Now voters of Kentucky maybe asking why are we not talking about issues instead of politicians jobs?

"I think the proper answer is until the re-districting issue is settled, until a filing deadline has passed, things are still going to be chaotic up in Frankfort," said

Local businesswoman Regina Webb says even if the district she filed in isn't there she's still going to run in the old district which would put her against Representative Jody Richards.

"When I said I'm going to run, I filed to run in that seat, it was not so much about what district I was in, but that I wanted to serve the people of Kentucky for a long time," said Webb.

Today, the Legislative Research Commission announced it will appeal the judge's ruling that found newly-drawn legislative districts unconstitutional.
