BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- The heavy rains have made it virtually impossible to treat the roads for freezing precipitation; due to the fact that the chemicals would've washed away. That means road crews must wait just like everyone else before taking action.
"We have all of our crews ready to go. All of our equipment is ready to go. We have plenty of brine and salt on hand to handle the situation. We're ready to go. It's just a matter of watching the weather and seeing what it does. Then we'll give out the orders at that point."
The Kentucky Transportation Department said the effort won't be a one time treatment, but rather constant road treatment throughout the weekend.
