Rockfield Man Puts Up 17,000 Christmas Lights

WARREN CO., Ky. (WBKO) -- A Rockfield man started decorating for Christmas before Halloween.

That's because he put up 17,000 lights.

He says he's done it for five years and adds more lights each year.

Those lights are synchronized to music and the show starts each night at five and ends at nine.

On Saturday nights, the family serves hot chocolate and cookies.

"It's all free and everybody just enjoy it. I started it and have a nativity scene out front, and that's what Christmas is about -- Christ's birth. That's basically why I do it. It gives me a chance to talk to people about Christ," said Jackie Cherry.

He says 30 to 50 people show up each night, and he welcomes everyone out to see his home at 818 Vance Lane until he takes the lights down in January.
