An area cheese business is facing it's second voluntary recall in just two months.

Kenny's Farmhouse Cheese is doing everything possible to make sure this doesn't happen again.

"Do I keep making? Do I shut it down until we know for certain?", this is something Kenny Mattingly asks himself everyday, "Still, you do all the best things you can do, all the good practices, and you just trust that you're going to make a good product again."

For Kenny, this family business wasn't always in cheese.

Fourteen years ago, he decided to grow a simple dairy farm into a cheese manufacturing company.

When Kenny decided to expand his growing business in July, he built a bigger building.

"The cheeses that were affected were made during the time that we were transitioning from the old building to the new. And we're reading that is your most vulnerable time to have a contamination," he says.

The FDA has asked restaurants and farmer's markets to notify customers of the contaminated Cheddar, Chipotle Colby, and Monterrey Jack cheeses.

Customers can receive a full refund.

These cheeses tested positive for listeria contamination.

"We might have some shortages. We might have to try something different during the next few months that they haven't tried before," Kenny says.

This may set him back this holiday season, but he has a lot of community support.

"Our customers have been very understanding and supportive, and you know I think anybody that knows us or has come to the farm realizes how hard we work to do things well," Kenny says, "I was renewed with energy to try harder. Going through this whole ordeal has been quite an emotional roller coaster, and you get downed, you get discouraged, you want to blame somebody else."

Kenny has hired consultants to help with making sure everything is made in a healthy way.

Kenny's Farmhouse Cheese is distributed in Alabama, Kentucky, Indiana, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

To receive a full refund, you can return the product back to the location you bought it from.
