A house fire has killed a man in Somerset.

The Commonwealth-Journal reported 51-year-old Arthur Jackson died shortly after firefighters pulled him through a window of his flaming house on Thursday afternoon.

Parkers Mill Fire Department Chief David Volz said rescuers broke through a wall to reach Jackson in thick, rolling smoke.

Pulaski County Public Safety Director Tiger Robinson said Jackson appeared stable when he was put into an ambulance, but was later pronounced dead at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Chief Deputy Coroner Anthony Gossett said Jackson probably died from smoke inhalation.
