Bowling Green and Warren County officials gathered this morning at Bowling Green Ballpark to declare this week Stand for Children Week.
The proclamation and ribbon cutting kicked off a week of events and awareness. One Community Education official says it's a reminder of the importance of giving children a good, safe start to life.
"It's just to remind people in the community how important children are to our future, and the viability of our community. If we give them a safe, good start, they'll provide for the community in the long run," said Community Education Director Debi Wade Jordan.
Stand for Children Day is open to the public at Bowling Green Ballpark on Wednesday from 9a.m. to 11a.m.
There will be information on children's events in the area and activities for the kids.
