Students at Bristow Elementary in Warren County were able to experience other countries without leaving the school.

It's the second year for the annual International Fair.

Third through sixth graders walked around doing a scavenger hunt to learn about the countries their classmates are from.

They stopped by displays to ask questions and to understand more about their fellow classmates in the English as a Second Language program.

"We have a large population of ESL students, and at our school a majority of them have a background in speaking Spanish; but most of the community here, the children, they don't understand that just because the students speak Spanish doesn't mean they come from Mexico," said Laura Briggs, an ESL teacher.

The fair started last year after Briggs said she noticed other schools having success with the program.
