NELSON, Ky (WBKO) -- The deaths in Kentucky are those of three people in Nelson County after their car was swept away during flooding.

The Rolling Fork Fire Chief says the victims were unfamiliar with the area when they were crossing a small bridge. The water is usually a foot deep, but with the storm the water got up to ten feet.

Emergency crews were called to Dee Head Road around three in the morning and the conditions were unfavorable.
Two people inside the car were able to escape with no injuries.

Also in Carroll County, a person drowned after a four-wheeler attempting to cross a flooded waterway overturned trapping the victim.
