A Tompkinsville police officer is convicted of first degree sexual abuse.
Monroe Circuit Court documents show 58-year-old Darrell Ford was convicted Tuesday, of the sexual abuse of a female victim under twelve years of age.
The jury recommended a sentence of ten years in the state penitentiary.
The court directed that a comprehensive sex offender presentence evaluation be submitted, with final sentencing set for September 19.
Darrell Ford is the brother of Tompkinsville Police Chief Dale Ford.
