A western Kentucky sheriff is trying a new tactic to get information in three cold cases.

Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam tells WPSD-TV that he has put up $1,000 of his own money for information in the three slayings.

The cases include those of Harvey Choat, who was found fatally shot in his home in 2008; Barbara Humphries, whose remains were discovered by a farmer in 2002 and Kenneth Ladd, who was fatally shot while working overnight at the front desk of Lake Barkley State Resort Park in 1980.

Burnam says "somebody knows something" about the cases and he hopes the reward spurs them to come forward with information.
