Woman Gets 2-Year Sentence For Goddaughter's Death

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- A Lexington woman has been sentenced to two years in prison for running over and killing her 12-year-old goddaughter.

The Lexington Herald-Leader (http://bit.ly/NnW8Ur ) reports that 48-year-old Jullie Belle Reese was taken into custody after Friday's hearing to begin serving her sentence. Public defender Chris Tracy says Reese will be held at the Fayette County Detention Center until her prison placement is decided.

Reese pleaded guilty in May to reckless homicide. She admitted to accidentally running over Sierra Hubbard in June 2011 after a day of playing at a park.

Reese's husband, Mark Reese, says he and his wife watched Sierra and her two sisters almost every weekend for 12 years.

Sierra was walking next to Jullie Reese's van when she fell and was hit by the van's back wheel.
