A yard sale raises $727.27 to benefit Lane Goodwin and Austin Pellet.
Austin Pellet is 12-year-old from Bowling Green. When he was just two months old, doctors discovered Austin was born with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, a genetic disease that can lead to liver failure at any time.
According to the organizers of the event, Austin's family received $200 to make a trip to Cincinnati so he can get the treatment he needs.
The rest of the money will go to Lane Goodwin who's fighting cancer.
The yard sale was held at the Elite Auto Repair Center on Louisville Rd.
Katelyn Arnold helped organize the event.
She says she wanted to help because her sister is handicapped, and she knows what it's like to be in and out of hospitals.
"We know how expensive all the medical bills are. We know how they feel, with all the situations. So, we are just trying to help them get what they need," she says.
80 percent of the proceeds went to the Goodwin family and 20 percent of the proceeds went to the Pellet family.
The organizers for the yard sale say they want to do more events to help Austin Pellet.
