Children that are adopted from foster care may qualify for the following benefits:
Monthly adoption subsidy until their 18th birthday
Medical insurance and coverage of special medical expenses
Daycare and afterschool reimbursement
PAID TUITION at any public university, college, or vocational school in the state of Kentucky
There are currently 7,027 in the state of Kentucky that are in and out of home care? Of those children, 550 are in our 10 county area. 223 of those children have the goal of adoption.
There are currently 319 children in Warren County in and out of home care.
68 adoptions have been finalized since October 2007 in our region.
There are only 175 approved foster homes. That's less than half of what is needed and some of those are not in the county where the child currently lives.
The Adoption Resource Centers offer:A monthly regional parent support and training meeting for foster and adoptive parents.
A lending library of over 400 resources for parents and children.
Telephone support, a quarterly newsletter, Sunday's Child, and other recruitment efforts.
