Bowling Green Man to Get Five Years for DUI Death

On October 1, Ralph Adkins pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants, a second offense in five years.

Adkins admitted drinking whiskey the night he crashed into a utility pole on Morgantown Rd., September 13, 2006. 52-year-old David McKinney, of Morgantown, was killed when his motorcycle slid into the electrical wires from that utility pole.

On Monday, November 19, Adkins will be sentenced to five years in prison on the manslaughter charge, plus an additional two years on a previous DUI charge.
