If you were wondering why streets where blocked off in downtown Bowling Green Thursday, here's why.

Bowling Green was chosen out of seven cities in which to shoot a commercial for Independence Bank.

The president of the Independence Bank says the city was selected, because of the historic background Bowling Green offers.

One business owner says the commercial will bring in more customers.

"It is exciting and if we can get Bowling Green out there for other people to see," says Susan Hoechner, co-owner of Barbara Stewart Interiors, "we hope we can get lots of visitors."

The commercial is set to air in regional areas.
