An Elizabethtown police officer is on paid leave, but soon may no longer be with the department.
Officials say Officer James Richardson, an eight-year veteran of the force, is appealing the decision.
A department spokesperson says city policy prevents them from releasing the cause of his termination until Richardson's appeal is wrapped up.
