Governor's Garden Opens At Center for Courageous Kids

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) - A new garden at the Center for Courageous Kids will give campers the opportunity to use their green thumb and eat healthy.

First Lady Jane Beshear was on hand to dedicate the new Governor's Garden at CCK. The program promotes Kentucky products that are grown and produced across the state. The new garden at CCK will be used for education and better eating habits.

"The Governor's Garden purpose is to promote health. The opportunity for these children to dig in the dirt like we have been doing today, to be able to watch plants grow and be a part of being able to take care of them and then harvest them," says Beshear.

The Governor's Garden at the Center for Courageous Kids is the 6th in the state. Jane Beshear says she plans to return to the camp to see the progress.
