Bowling Green-Warren County Junior Achievement took time to honor those who dedicate their time to the cause.

The annual Junior Achievement appreciation breakfast was held this morning to honor the 2013 Teacher and Volunteer of the Year.

Junior Achievement has been implemented into several schools in Bowling Green and Warren County to help prepare students for a bright future.

And both women honored today are helping achieve that goal.

"I feel like a lot of those skills really aren't taught in the classroom or at home so it's really important as business leaders in the community and make sure that these kids are prepared," says Andrea Reed, Volunteer of the Year and Junior Achievement Board Member.

"I love watching them catch onto something that I'm trying to instill in them, whether it is something real-world so they can have better skills to go out and be a better citizen in the United States, or wherever it is they decide to live, I just want them to be successful," says Wanda Faulker, Teacher of the Year from Bowling Green High School.

In the last year, Junior Achievement programs in Warren County and Bowling Green Middle and High Schools have increased by 74%.
