Mammoth Cave Seeks Public Input On Ticket Price Increases

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) - Mammoth Cave is looking to increase cave tour ticket prices, but not before hearing from the public first.

The park hopes to increase cave tour rates by $1 to $2 in 2014. Prices have stayed the same since 2007, although the park says operation costs have been on the rise.

The new proposed rate would be on the 8 cave tours that require bus transportation.

"Our concessioner, the Mammoth Cave Hotel, is the one that runs our buses for us that take people out to other entrances of the cave so they have asked for an increase a few times over the years so now we are just trying to make up that cost," says Public Information Officer Vickie Carson.

Written comments about the proposed increase can be submitted through the National Park Service planning website, which can be found by clicking the link below.
