Candidates for Kentucky's Agriculture Commissioner appeared on Kentucky Educational Television on April 12, 2007, but the incumbent did not.
The statewide network held separate forums for the Democratic and Republican candidates. Democrats David Nville and Dvid Williams appeared together in one forum.
Williams said he entered the race to protect the environment and would support having automobiles and other motor vehicles run on natural gas.
Republican Donald Stotsberg is challenging Agriculture Commissioner Richie Farmer in the May primary. Stotsberg said that as Kentucky farmers diversify away from tobacco production the state should look to develop more outlets such as grape and goat farming.
Richie Farmer missed the debate to shoot a commercial for a marketing campaign by the Department of Agriculture.
