A Democratic candidate for governor receives a nod of approval from a former Kentucky Governor.
Former Governor Brereton Jones has endorsed former Lieutenant Governor Steve Beshear for the state's top job. In a news conference this, Brereton said Beshear's leadership would help the state improve in areas like education and health care.
Beshear's running mate is State Sen. Daniel Mongiardo of Hazard, Ky.
In the May 22 primary seven candidates are vying for the Democratic nomination and three for the Republican nomination.
