Governor Ernie Fletcher and his Democratic challenger in the November election face off for the first time.
Steve Beshear and the governor don’t see eye-to-eye on a number of issues, including casino gambling and a stalemated special legislative session.
The two debated for an hour before Kentucky’s county judge-executives and magistrates July 12.
Beshear accused Fletcher of lacking leadership and talked about the hiring scandal that led to the governor’s indictment.
During the forum, Fletcher took credit for a list of accomplishments, including shoring up Kentucky’s finances.
