Vice President Dick Cheney said a September report on the war in Iraq is likely to show "significant progress."
In an interview on CNN's "Larry King Live," Cheney said he's been hearing reports that the current U.S. military strategy in Iraq is "producing results."
The U.S. commander in Iraq and the U.S. Ambassador are required to report to Congress by Sept. 15 on progress in Iraq.
Their evaluation is expected to shape the administration's next moves on the war.
The White House has given encouraging signs of progress in Iraq since Bush ordered a troop buildup in Jan.
