In the Democratic race for U.S. Senate it was a close one between Lieutenant Governor Daniel Mongiardo and Attorney General Jack Conway.
Conway edged out Mongiardo with almost 45% of the vote.
In Conway's acceptance speech he discussed his accomplishments as Attorney General, which he says prepares him to be a U.S. Senator.
"We've created a prescription pill task force that's worked with our counterparts in law enforcement to bring about the biggest drug busts in this state's history. Medicaid fraud collections are up over 600% since I became Attorney General. Elder Abuse prosecutions are up over 300%. Ladies and gentlemen, that's a record of taking a public office and treating it as a public trust, and that's just what I will do as your next United States Senator," Conway said.
Now that the primaries are over Conway is preparing to face Rand Paul in the November general election.
