Beshear Pleased Services Will Not Shut Down

Last week's special session finally produced a new state budget.

Governor Beshear says these are tough times and everyone, including government has to tighten their belts.

Some things were left out of the budget but the Governor says he's glad that essential services will not have to shut down.

"We're gonna have to cut back in a number of areas, but I prioritize and kept those priorities that I think Kentuckians hold dear, and that is educating our kids, and public safety for our folks and creating new jobs," said Beshear.

The Governor says his office is currently reviewing the details of that budget.
