Gen. Petraeus Back On Capitol Hill Today

General David Petraeus was back on Capitol Hill today, hoping not to have a repeat of yesterday's Senate hearing.

The Commander of the U.S. Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan fainted while being questioned by Senator John McCain.

He says he just got dehydrated and hadn't eaten breakfast.

The General was in good spirits today and even cracked a couple jokes in his opening statement.

"Thank you for the opportunity for a re-do hearing after I demonstrated yesterday the importance of following my first platoon sergeant's order 35 years ago to always stay hydrated. I'll try to remember that in the future. In fact, my team provided me this nifty Camelback to help me remember it," said General Petraeus.

Before he fainted Petraeus had been defending the progress of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

He said the surge of U.S. troops in Afghanistan is ahead of schedule is happy to provide a forum for commenting and discussion. Please respect and abide by the house rules:
